Major Illinois auction in February to include productive cropland and large fields
GRANT PARK, Ill., Jan. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Approximately 752 acres of Kankakee County land with productive soils will be offered at auction February 8, with Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company marketing the land and conducting the event.
The land, 602 acres of which are contiguous, will be offered in nine tracts, ranging from 16 to 212 acres. One tract has a home as well as support buildings.
"This farm, about 50 miles south of Chicago and east of Grant Park, has large contiguous fields, along with a couple of wooded tracts that provide good hunting opportunities. Of the 602 contiguous acres, more than half of the land consists of Class A soil types," said R.D. Schrader, president of the company.
"Given the size and quality of the farm, we anticipate this will be of interest to farm operators and investors as well," said Matt Wiseman, who is managing the auction.
The auction will begin at 5 p.m. Central Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Quality Inn & Suites, Bradley, Illinois, with online bidding available by request.
Schrader personnel will be available at the property from to 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, and Wednesday, January 24 to accommodate inspections and provide detailed information.
