Major General Yaacov Amidror Joins JINSA Gemunder Center for Defense and Strategy as Senior Advisor
Prime Minister Netanyahu's former National Security Advisor, Maj. Gen. Amidror (ret.) joins JINSA's policy division
WASHINGTON, Sept. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- JINSA is proud to announce the addition of Israel's former National Security Advisor Major General Yaacov Amidror (ret.) as a Senior Advisor to the Gemunder Center for Defense and Strategy. At his new position with JINSA, Maj. Gen. Amidror will provide expert policy guidance and share his extensive knowledge with other Gemunder Center leaders as well as the public.

As National Security Advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and head of Israel's National Security Council, Maj. Gen. Amidror was one of the Prime Minister's leading advisors. He was instrumental in high-level talks between the U.S. and Israel over the Iranian nuclear program and supervised efforts to keep Hezbollah from obtaining Russian missile systems.
Maj. Gen. Amidror retired from active duty in 2002 after serving as the commander of the IDF's National Defense College. He has also served as the head of the Research Department of Israeli military intelligence where he was responsible for preparing Israel's National Intelligence Assessment. He has written articles for newspapers in Israel as well as the New York Times and is a researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs and a senior fellow at the Begin-Sadat Center in Bar-Ilan University.
