LOS ANGELES, May 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Family law attorneys are being called into the fight to end Parental Alienation . In an article published in the May 2013 issue of Valley Lawyer Magazine, Plinio J. Garcia, CEO of Major Family Services, one of Los Angeles's premier parenting education service providers, defines Parental Alienation as "any time one parent communicates in a derogatory way about the other parent in a manner that affects their child or children emotionally, psychologically, or even physically."

Garcia's article stresses why this is such an important and volatile issue in today's family courts—stating that when parents and attorneys use the children's emotions to "win" their case, the child or children may suffer permanent emotional and psychological damage.
To aid attorneys in recognizing the syndrome, Garcia's article identifies different forms of Parental Alienation and the types of individuals who usually become alienators. Garcia then makes suggestions as to what attorneys should do to minimize or stop parental alienation or parental alienating behavior.
