The latest addition to its warehouse facility is a brand new 60,000# x 72" Braner/Loopco Triple Turret Head™ Single-Loop Slitting Line. Along with amping up Majestic's processing capabilities, the slitter also signals the company's continued dedication to and investment in the region.
Currently, assembly of this top-of-the-line slitter is taking place at Majestic's Houston, Texas location. Production is slated to complete in August 2015, though Majestic's sales team is currently taking orders for slit product.
"We chose a Braner slitter because of their reputation in the industry as the best in the business," says Augie Neff, Majestic's General Manager for the Southwest Division. "We truly believe this machinery will offer immense value for our customer base and allow us to expand our high-quality, prime offerings in Texas and beyond."
The slitter will accept 60,000# master coils with 20"/24" IDs, and deliver 78" OD slit coils with 20"/24" IDs. In addition, the machine has the capacity to slit 60,000# x 72" wide bare and coated carbon steel coil in gauges from 0.010" – 0.250" with mechanical properties ranging to 80,000 psi at processing speeds to 1,000 fpm.
Laser-aided coil loading also improves productivity, while a fiber-optic edge guide system reduces edge trim allowance. Impressively, orders can change over in minutes.
About: Majestic Steel USA is a nationwide distributor of prime, coated, flat-rolled coil and sheet with cut-to-length, slitting, and blanking capabilities, available on-demand.
