Maisons Marques & Domaines USA Inc. Announces New Partnership with Castiglion del Bosco, A Tuscan Estate From Massimo Ferragamo
NEW YORK, Feb. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Maisons Marques & Domaines USA Inc. (MMD) (http://www.mmdusa.net) is proud to announce a new partnership with Castiglion del Bosco (http://www.castigliondelbosco.com), Massimo Ferragamo's wine estate in Tuscany. Effective immediately, MMD will represent Castiglion del Bosco wines throughout the United States including Campo Del Drago single vineyard Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and Rosso di Montalcino DOC.
Massimo Ferragamo states, "We are delighted to continue the growth of Castiglion del Bosco brands with such a prestigious and exclusive firm as MMD USA, and are happy to share the same values of family and tradition coupled with a strong professional management team."
Castiglion del Bosco is one of Tuscany's most noteworthy estates and a leading producer of renowned Brunello di Montalcino. One of the earliest producers of Brunello di Montalcino, Castiglion del Bosco was acquired in 2003 by Massimo Ferragamo. The property is located in the northwestern part of Montalcino and extends over 1,785 hectares of woods, meadows, vineyards and olive groves. The vineyards include 59 hectares of premium Sangiovese grapes, handpicked by farmers since the 18th century. Today, Castiglion del Bosco serves as a well-regarded wine estate as well as a modern resort with a rich past. Scattered around the property is an ancient village with a 12th century castle fortress, ruins of an early Romanic church, elegantly appointed villas, farmhouses, two restaurants, a culinary academy, a spa, infinity pools, tennis and fitness accommodations and an eighteen-hole golf course designed by Tom Weiskopf.
Along with the magnificent estate in Montalcino, Castiglion del Bosco owns a beautiful vineyard in Riparbella, by the Tuscan coast, where the sumptuous Prima Pietra IGT Toscana Rosso, Dainero IGT Toscana Rosso and CdBianco IGT Toscana Chardonnay have been produced since 2007.
Gregory Balogh, President of Maisons Marques & Domaines, states, "Castiglion del Bosco is an ideal addition to the MMD portfolio; the exceptional wines from this stunning Tuscan estate will complement our champagne and fine wines. We are honored and pleased to welcome Castiglion del Bosco and Massimo Ferragamo to MMD USA."

ABOUT CASTIGLION DEL BOSCO
Castiglion del Bosco is one of the oldest estates in Tuscany, located on the Via Francigena pilgrim route to Rome. Today the team at Castiglion del Bosco, led by Massimo Ferragamo, consider themselves to be stewards for this historic treasure preserving and continuing its legacy. The estate includes 59 hectares of vineyards, all of which are licensed to produce Brunello, and extend over two separate areas with different exposures and climates. Castiglion del Bosco is also one of a handful of wineries who founded the Brunello di Montalcino denomination in 1967. With the mission to create wines that awaken the senses, Castiglion del Bosco produces wines that perfectly represent the terroir and respect the elegance of nature, both aspirations of which are represented by the suggestive estate name - the Bosco are woods that encompass the Castle, the Castiglion, and which are the realm of deer, boar and pheasant...and of Sangiovese.
