Main Street Softworks' Monetra Gains Additional EMV Certifications and PCI PA-DSS 3.1 Validations
GAINESVILLE, Fla., Jan. 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Main Street Softworks, Inc. today announced it has completed EMV certifications for its Monetra® middleware software with TSYS, Vantiv, WorldPay, and First Data's CardNet and Nashville platforms, raising the total number of EMV-certified platforms for the Monetra software to nine. The Monetra software was previously certified for EMV processing with Global Payments Inc., Chase Paymentech, and the Moneris and Chase Paymentech platforms in Canada. All Monetra EMV certifications cover both retail and restaurant transactions, including tip-adjustments.
Support for First Data's TransArmor end-to-end encryption and tokenization solution is included with Main Street's newest certifications, enabling comprehensive card data security for EMV and non-EMV transactions. Merchants using First Data's TransArmor solution can effectively eliminate card data from their environments, which greatly reduces merchant PCI compliance requirements.
Main Street's EMV architecture permits gateway operators, merchants and application software developers to quickly and easily deploy certified, EMV-enabled integrated point-of-sale solutions while keeping POS applications "out of scope" for PCI PA-DSS validation requirements. Using a "software semi-integrated" approach, Main Street's UniTerm® device interface component transparently manages transaction flows between EMV terminal devices and the Monetra middleware software, eliminating the complexity of EMV integrations. The combination of Monetra and UniTerm delivers a near "plug and play" solution supporting a variety of EMV terminal devices, such as those made by Ingenico and Verifone, while enabling merchants to directly process transactions with the major processing platforms, eliminating the need for extra-cost transaction gateway services.
Both Monetra and UniTerm have also been validated to meet all requirements of the newest version 3.1 of the PCI Payment Application Data Security Standards (PA-DSS).
Company representatives will be available January 18-19 at the National Retail Federation (NRF) "Big Show" exposition and convention in New York City.
