Main Street Softworks Inc. Delivers Turn-Key Certified EMV Solution
GAINESVILLE, Fla., Nov. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --Main Street Softworks, Inc. today announced it has received EMV certification from two US transactions processors, Global Payments Inc. and Chase Paymentech, for Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover card transactions via Main Street's Monetra® and UniTerm® transaction processing software. The certifications cover retail and restaurant transactions, including tip-adjustments.
These new certifications complement the products' existing EMV certifications for the Moneris and Chase Paymentech platforms in Canada, and forthcoming EMV certifications from other US processors. Technical documentation and no-cost evaluation software is available at www.monetra.com
Main Street's EMV architecture permits gateway operators, merchants and application software developers to quickly and easily deploy certified, EMV-enabled integrated point-of-sale solutions. Using a "software semi-integrated" approach, the UniTerm device interface component transparently manages transaction flows between EMV terminal devices and Main Street's Monetra transaction server software, eliminating the complexity of EMV integrations. The combination of Monetra and UniTerm delivers a near "plug and play" solution that supports a variety of EMV terminal devices, such as those made by Ingenico and Verifone, while enabling merchants to directly process transactions with the major processing platforms, eliminating the need for extra-cost transaction gateway services.
"Main Street delivers a complete payment processing eco-system, with comprehensive functionality that supports EMV and non-EMV transactions for card-present, mobile, ecommerce, mail order/phone order, and unattended applications," said Steve Cook, vice president of Sales at Main Street. "Using Monetra together with UniTerm enables chip-and-PIN, chip-and-signature, and no-verification transactions, for contact and contactless interactions, including Apple Pay, via a consistent, easy-to-use application interface."
The Monetra and UniTerm products also include support for Main Street's popular CardShield® option, which enables use of encrypting card readers and terminals for high-security, "point-to-point encryption" (P2PE) applications, and extends the existing CardShield P2PE and tokenization functionality to include protection of EMV card data as well.
