Magnolia Health to Sponsor Health Fair at Mayor's Gospel Competition on Sept. 15
JACKSON, Miss., July 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Magnolia Health, a leading provider of health care coverage that improves care across Mississippi, announced today that it will be hosting a city-wide health fair on Sept. 15 in conjunction with Mayor Lumumba's Task Force for a Healthier Jackson's Voices for Health Gospel Choir Competition.
Magnolia Health will be providing health education materials, EPSDT screenings for school-aged children, and checking member records for care gaps and answering health-related questions. The City of Jackson is partnering with hospitals and other agencies to provide additional health screenings including blood pressure, cholesterol and BMI for adults.

Jackson-area gospel choirs interested in competing in the preliminary round must text their contact information to: 769-666-9021, no later than Friday, August 3. The pre-qualification round will be hosted by Anderson United Methodist Church in Jackson on Saturday, August 25, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Six finalists will go on to compete in the final round on Saturday, September 15, at the Jackson Convention Center. The Grand Prize winner will named the Best Gospel Choir in Jackson and will receive a $2,000 prize.
