Magnolia Health Partners with Shoes from the Heart to Provide Shoes for Children in Coahoma County
Collaboration provides nearly 100 children in need with new shoes.
JACKSON, Miss., Nov. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Magnolia Health, a leading provider of health care coverage that improves care across Mississippi, recently partnered with the Shoes from the Heart organization and the Coahoma County Diaper Bank to provide shoes to children in need.
"Shoes from the Heart joined Magnolia Health to promote goodwill by providing free tennis shoes for the children in the Clarksdale area," said Jessica Leather, Distribution Manager for Shoes from the Heart. "We had a wonderful turnout and great support from the area."
Magnolia Health and Shoes from the Heart, a non-profit ministry from Macon, Missouri, partnered to give free tennis shoes to the children in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Shoes from the Heart had a goal to distribute 75 pairs of shoes to children in the area. Nearly 100 children from Coahoma County from ages 1-21 received shoes at the event.
"We appreciate the partnership with Shoes from the Heart. Our families truly enjoyed the new shoes and these donations help us address childhood poverty in the Mississippi Delta," said Aaron Sisk, CEO of Magnolia Health.
The Coahoma County Diaper Bank selected the children to receive shoes. The children were also given new socks from the donation as well. Representatives from the Children's Clinic of Clarksdale and the Aaron Henry Community Health Center were also in attendance to assist in the distribution.
