Magellan GPS Renews Sponsorship of Geocaching.com's International "Cache In Trash Out"
SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Magellan GPS announced that it has renewed its exclusive sponsorship of Geocaching.com's Cache In Trash Out (CITO). 2011 marks the second year in a row that Magellan has participated in CITO.

Geocaching.com will celebrate its Ninth Annual International CITO weekend on April 30 and May 1, 2011, where geocachers have an opportunity to participate in coordinated worldwide clean-up efforts. In addition to special events held on CITO weekend, other group events are planned throughout the year and Magellan and Geocaching.com promote geocachers to practice CITO every time they go geocaching.

- April 23, Taylor Park CITO in Duvall, Washington

Additionally, Magellan also will provide up to 50 giveaway packs to CITO event organizers around the globe. These events will be selected on a first come first serve basis to event organizers who email [email protected] with the details of their event.
Magellan will help promote awareness of the clean-up events to its fans and users through social media alerts, promotion in Magellan's outdoor newsletter, and other initiatives throughout the year.
"We appreciate Magellan's continued support of Cache In Trash Out and the activity of geocaching in general. Geocachers pride themselves on leaving things the way they found them and that holds true for how the community feels about the environment. We are all dedicated to preserving the outdoors, and these clean-up events reflect that commitment," said Jeremy Irish, CEO of Groundspeak and Geocaching.com.
"Magellan is again excited to partner with Geocaching.com on this global environmental clean-up effort. While the number of geocachers continues to grow worldwide, the geocaching community does an outstanding job to organize these local events and to clean up our parks, trails and favorite open spaces for the next generation. We are proud to support the Cache In Trash Out events and thank the outdoor enthusiasts who use our GPS products for keeping recreation areas litter free," said Peggy Fong, President and Chief Operating Officer at Magellan.
