MAG Interactive AB (publ) Presents Interim Report Sep 2017 - May 2018
STOCKHOLM, July 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --
COMMENT FROM DANIEL HASSELBERG, CEO
"Two global game launches and improved earnings
On the last day of the reporting period, we launched the game Word Domination globally on App Store and Google Play. The game received strong support from both Apple and Google with solid exposure on the front page of the stores in all major western markets. Word Domination has now reached more than a million players and we believe it will be an important product for MAG for years to come.
During the first half of June, the game Paint Hit was launched globally on App Store and Google Play and we announce today that the game has surpassed five million downloads. Paint Hit is a so-called Hyper Casual game which is a new category of games for MAG and we look forward to seeing how the game will develop over time.
The earnings for the period (EBITDA) increased by 10% compared to the same period last year. This is the result of a strong underlying profitability where the contribution from games increased by more than 40%.
Our ambition is to increase our investments in marketing over time, and we see an increase in both marketing volume and revenue in June versus the end of the reporting period thanks to the two new game launches."
