NEW YORK, Aug. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Advertising Week (AW), the world's largest annual gathering of advertising, creative, entertainment, marketing, media and technology industry leaders, today announced the creation of the Madison Avenue Walk of Fame Icon Awards. The inaugural awards celebrate the best advertising icons, slogans and their creators. The evening will take place Monday, October 1 as part of Advertising Week's 15th Anniversary Opening Gala, which will be held in Times Square.
In addition, Advertising Week has announced the nominees for the 2018 Madison Avenue Walk of Fame Class.
Awards to be handed out as part of the inaugural Icon Awards include:
- Icon of the Millennium Award
- Comeback Icon of the Year
- Icon of the Year -- Most Valuable Icon (MVI)
- Rookie of the Year
- #Throwback Icon Award
- Icon For Good Award
- Gone Fishing: Icon Retirement Award
The great slogans will be honored as well throughout the evening.
