Machine Gun Kelly X Camila Cabello Releasing "Bad Things"
Edgy Superstar & Pop Starlet Co-write New Single
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- EST 19XX/Bad Boy/Interscope recording artist Machine Gun Kelly joins forces with Camila Cabello of Fifth Harmony, for the anthemic new single, "Bad Things," which is now available on all digital platforms. You can listen to it HERE. Produced by The Futuristic (Chris Brown, Three 6 Mafia, Bruno Mars), the mashup duet is an unlikely but welcome collaboration between the reigning rock star of rap and the rising Cuban-American pop princess.
On "Bad Things," Machine Gun Kelly is his usual badass self while songbird Camila Cabello sings half-innocently, "Am I out of my head am I out of my mind...Don't think that I can explain it, what can I say it's complicated..." It is a beautiful juxtaposition that has undoubtedly produced a bonafide pop hit.
2016 has been an amazing year for Kelly, who has managed to diversify his creative portfolio with a number of projects outside of music. Handpicked by famed writer/director Cameron Crowe for a regular role on the Showtime series Roadies, the 26-year-old bard can also be seen acting in the independent films Punk Is Dead, Nerve (with Dave Franco and Emma Watson) and The Land (with Erykah Badu). Machine Gun Kelly also successfully kicked off his fashion debut by signing to Wilhelmina Modeling Agency, walking the Runway in London and performing during NYFW.
Machine Gun Kelly burst onto the Cleveland music scene with a lifetime's worth of determination in 2012. His debut album Lace Up debuted at #2 on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Album charts. In October of 2015, the artist released his sophomore album General Admission and clinched a #1 spot on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Album charts. His outsized talents have also earned him an MTV European Music Award and an MTVu Woodie.
19-year-old singer-songwriter Camila Cabello is a member of girl group Fifth Harmony. Fifth Harmony's sophomore album 7/27 just went gold in the US. The first single off that album "Work From Home" went to #1 at both rhythm and pop radio in the US and is multi-platinum in the US and abroad. The song won the 2016 MTV Video Music Award for "Best Collaboration," alongside their song "All in My Head (Flex)" featuring Fetty Wap which took home "Song of Summer."
Her prior single with Fifth Harmony "Worth It" from their debut album Reflection is the biggest selling single of all time by a girl group according to Billboard. It went quadruple platinum in the US. The music videos for "Worth It" and "Work From Home" have each reached an astounding one billion views on YouTube.
On the solo side, her first commercial single "I Know What You Did Last Summer" with Shawn Mendes went platinum in the US and abroad. It reached the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100, top 10 at pop radio, and has over 200 million audio streams. The music video has over 160mm views on YouTube, and won two MuchMusic Video Awards earlier this year for "Pop Video of the Year" and "Fan Fave Video."
