On September 5th, MAC Cosmetics will host a book launch party with the authors (Mauricio and Roger Padilha) of "Antonio: Fashion, Art, Sex and Disco" in celebration of late fashion illustrator Antonio Lopez, whose drawings have appeared in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Interview and The New York Times and whose works have been exhibited in galleries worldwide. Joey Arias, notable cabaret singer, performance and drag artist will perform for guests.
FASHION'S NIGHT OUT
MAC Cosmetics has teamed up with Harlem born 20-year-old rapper/singer phenomenon Azealia Banks on a limited edition lipstick in celebration of this year's Fashion's Night Out. The Lipstick called Yung Rapunxel (a deep blackened purple) will be available on www.maccosmetics.com and at all NYC MAC stores September 6th thru September 20th. On Fashion's Night Out, September 6th, Azealia will perform her unique sounds and style of raw, rapid-fire rap house jams along with her Mermaid Ball partner DJ Cosmo at MAC's new Broadway location in Soho.
Additionally, MAC Cosmetics will also participate in Diane von Furstenberg's "Ready to Rendez-vous" Fashion's Night Out event. As one of a series of vignettes in which guests can prepare for their very own rendez-vous, MAC artists will give beauty makeovers and advice in DVF's Meatpacking flagship store that evening.
NEW PRODUCTS ARE PUT TO TEST BACKSTAGE
Makeup artists rely on the newest and most advanced products available when working backstage - the latest finishes, formulations, shades and beauty innovations are all essential. Artists use this unique opportunity to test-drive MAC's very latest product prototypes, sometimes years before they reach consumers, and put them to the test on the runways of New York, London, Milan, and Paris. If the texture, color, application or finish aren't up to scratch, artists let MAC's Product Development team know what needs tweaking. The end result: the perfect formula for eyes, lips, cheeks and brows that works equally in the hands of a professional makeup artist and the regular customer. For Spring/Summer 2013, MAC plans to test several new products, including a new moisturizing lipstick, a brow gel and pencil, new moisturizers and a palette of what's predicted to be the season's hottest lip and eye shades.
NAILS
After successfully "nailing" it last season, MAC is back to support nails at NYFW. This season's shows include Proenza Schouler and Donna Karan. MAC Senior Artist Keri Blair will return as nail key for Ruffian and Marimekko. And, for the first time, MAC Nails will be backstage in London, Milan and Paris.
