MaaS360 Selected for Government-Wide Federal Enterprise Mobility Management Program
PHILADELPHIA, July 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Fiberlink®, the leader in cloud-based enterprise mobility management (EMM), has announced the inclusion of MaaS360 in the first-ever government-wide Managed Mobility Program from the General Services Administration (GSA).
The GSA is responsible for developing more productive and efficient ways for federal agencies to conduct business. In conjunction with a cross-government team, the GSA created the Managed Mobility Program to simplify the procurement process for agencies to access a number of mobile enterprise management capabilities. The program identifies a set of mobile device management (MDM), mobile application management (MAM), and lifecycle management solutions that meet a broad range of requirements and can be purchased through existing government-wide contracts.
MaaS360 is already delivering comprehensive mobile security and management solutions for a number of federal agencies including the GSA, Department of Commerce, and Department of the Interior. Since 2008, government agencies have been able to purchase MaaS360 through the GSA Schedule 70. MaaS360 is the first and only cloud-based MDM platform certified and accredited under the Federal Information Security and Management Act (FISMA).
MaaS360 provides the Department of Commerce, including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), with key technology needed to configure smartphones and tablets over the air, enforce security policies on mobile devices and distribute mobile apps. "In addition to easily integrating into our current cloud systems, MaaS360 provides a robust set of tools to manage our existing, as well as future, mobile device requirements," said Darone Jones, UMS Operations Manager at NOAA.
"Inclusion in this program is clear evidence of the value of our solution to OMB's Digital Government Strategy. We're reinforcing our strong foothold across the public sector," said Jeff Ward, vice president of Federal for Fiberlink. "As the security and management of mobile technology becomes imperative, we'll continue to build capabilities in line with government initiatives such as Telework, GreenIT, Cloud First, Shared Services, and Continuous Monitoring."
GSA's Managed Mobility Program creates and maintains a list of potential suppliers that meet the greatest number of government requirements. Agencies can use the Managed Mobility Program's central repository, information, and staff to help buy the solutions that best meet their requirements.
