M-DCPS School Receives Standing Desks to Improve Student Learning, Health
Ergotron and American Dairy Association Team Up to Donate Standing Desks to Local Middle School Classroom
MIAMI, Feb. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Students at Hialeah Gardens Middle School (HGMS) are the latest recipients of LearnFit® Adjustable Standing Desks, a donation made through Fuel Up to Play 60 and the American Dairy Association & Dairy Council (ADADC) by Ergotron, in an effort to enhance health and learning. With several studies underscoring the negative effects of prolonged sitting, Miami-Dade County Public Schools and HGMS administration realize the importance of integrating sit-stand activity into the classroom for the success of their students.
Student, teacher, Ergotron and ADADC representatives will work together to unpack, assemble and install desks on Tuesday, February 23rd. Students will learn more about how proper nutrition, such as starting the day with a wholesome breakfast, and physical activity, exemplified through the addition of their LearnFit desks, can promote better health and academic performance.
