Lynn University named "Great College to Work For" by The Chronicle of Higher Education
Institution recognized in 10 categories and received Honor Roll status for the first time
BOCA RATON, Fla., July 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Lynn University announced today that it is again one of the nation's "Great Colleges to Work For" according to The Chronicle of Higher Education.
The trade publication's 11th annual academic workplace report surveyed 253 colleges and universities. Of those, only 84 institutions achieved "Great College to Work For" status.
Lynn earned recognition in 10 categories within the small universities size grouping:
- Collaborative Governance
- Compensation & Benefits
- Confidence in Senior Leadership
- Facilities, Workspace & Security
- Job Satisfaction
- Professional/Career Development Programs
- Respect and Appreciation
- Supervisor/Department Chair Relationship
- Teaching Environment (Faculty Only)
- Work/Life Balance
Lynn was also one of 42 institutions to make the Honor Roll, awarded to universities recognized in the most categories.
A two-part assessment determined survey results: an institutional audit that captured demographics and workplace policies, and a questionnaire administered to faculty, administrators and professional support staff. Employee feedback was the primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition.
To administer the survey and analyze results, The Chronicle worked with ModernThink LLC, a strategic human capital consulting firm that has conducted numerous "Best Places to Work" programs.
"Great Colleges to Work For" is one of the largest and most comprehensive workplace studies in higher education. For more information and to view all the results of the survey, visit chronicle.com/interactives/greatcolleges18.
