LUNGevity Foundation Issues Request for Applications for Their 2012 Career Development Awards for Translational Research
Application now available online
WASHINGTON, Nov. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- LUNGevity issued their 2012 Career Development Award for Translational Research RFA today. It's available on the LUNGevity website at www.lungevity.org/research and is also posted on the proposalCENTRAL website.
LUNGevity's Career Development Awards for Translational Research program was created with one goal: to identify a cohort of future research leaders who will keep the field of lung cancer research vibrant with new ideas. "It is essential to attract and keep talented researchers in the field of lung cancer research," said Andrea Stern Ferris, President and Chairman of LUNGevity Foundation. "With shrinking federal funding, LUNGevity's Career Development Awards give us another vehicle to ensure that researchers at the beginning of their careers have adequate support to continue and grow."
Successful applicants will receive $100,000 per year for a possible period of three years and will participate as ex officio members of LUNGevity's Scientific Advisory Board for the duration of the award.
In 2011, LUNGevity awarded over $2 million of grants to institutions across the nation for lung cancer research. This is the largest grant awards program of any lung cancer organization in the United States.
