NEW YORK, Oct. 26, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Lung Cancer Research Foundation (LCRF) will host the 13th annual "Strolling Supper with Blues and News", its signature gala to benefit lung cancer research on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Gotham Hall (1356 Broadway) in New York City. WABC's Bill Ritter will serve as Master of Ceremonies. The evening will feature a performance by Grammy Award winner Delbert McClinton and a silent auction of artwork, sports memorabilia and one-of-a-kind items.
LCRF funds impactful, translational research that has the potential to extend survival and quality of life for people with lung cancer. To date, LCRF has provided more than 240 grants totaling nearly $20 million in support of lung cancer research in the United States and internationally. Despite being the number one cause of cancer death worldwide, per death, lung cancer is the most underfunded type of cancer.
"This year alone, 158,000 people will die from lung cancer in the US. Strolling Supper guests are family members, friends and survivors of lung cancer who work hard to increase funds for lung cancer research." said Mary Ann Tighe, LCRF Board Member.
Tickets for the 2015 "Strolling Supper with Blues and News" start at $350.
