ARLINGTON, Va., April 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Lunarline Inc, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business and one of the country's leading cyber security companies, announced today that it has narrowed its search for a new security operations facility to Kettering, Ohio though the company is still considering other locations.
"Since the moment we began planning our expansion across the Midwest we have been impressed with Ohio," says Lunarline Chief Operating Officer Keith Mortier. "The entire state has enormous potential and is deeply committed to the success of innovative high-tech companies like Lunarline. During our evaluation, Kettering in particular stood out as an ideal home base for Lunarline's advanced cyber operations team."
While highlighting Kettering's appeal, Mortier acknowledges some challenges.
"The facilities we've evaluated in Kettering, while world-class, still don't quite meet the security requirements of some of our more sensitive customers. It will take a significant investment to bring them up to par. We are currently evaluating all our options to see if we can make the numbers work, and remain hopeful that this move can happen."
Mortier and other members of the Lunarline team will be in Kettering on April 16 to evaluate the feasibility of upgrading the new facility – a 3,000 square foot facility at 1900 Founders Drive in the Miami Research Park. The Miami Valley Research Foundation, a non-profit comprised of The University of Dayton, Sinclair Community College, Central State University and Wright State University, owns the building.
"We are not just looking for new facility space," said Lunarline Director of Federal Sales Spence Witten. "We're looking to make a significant investment in the region. We need a base for our fast growing 24-7-365 cyber incident response team. And we intend to work closely with local universities on cutting edge cyber R&D initiatives. Our goal is to become the country's largest, most innovative cyber security company, and this next step is critical to achieving this objective."
If selected, Lunarline would bring 30 new jobs with an average annual salary of $75,000 to Kettering. The company also intends to extend its community outreach efforts, including its nonprofit Cyber to Cyber Warrior Program, to the area, and provide internships, career resources, mentorships and research opportunities to colleges and universities in southern Ohio.
