ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Aug. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- LumaStream, Inc. today announced the addition of three key business advisors with industry-leading experience and the talents to shape, build, and drive market share in the LED lighting industry. Marty Schaffel, Brian Christopher, and John Disa have the vision to help LumaStream navigate through its hyper-growth phase. The three individuals provide invaluable support to LumaStream's core business, customer targets, and integration partners.
Marty Schaffel is the founder and Chairman of AVI-SPL, the world's largest AV integrator. Under his direction, AVI-SPL has expanded its footprint internationally, ultimately leading to a successful sale to a private equity group, reaching over $600M in sales. His experience building an effective powerful integration business will be an important asset in guiding LumaStream through expansion and scalability. LumaStream's low-voltage LED solution lends itself well to the traditionally low-voltage Commercial Integration sector, making Marty Schaffel an invaluable resource to approach this channel.
Brian Christopher is the founder of Astec, a power supply company he co-founded and grew to 27,000 employees, and then sold to Emerson Electric Co. Astec is a world leader in the power supply sector. Brian Christopher's insight and direction in the sector will help LumaStream maintain its competitive advantage of its core technology, accelerate the product roadmap, and assist in identifying further vertical market opportunities for the company's low-voltage power supplies.
John Disa is the CEO of John Disa Associates, LLC, a management consulting group specializing in developing growth strategies for retail and consumer product companies. With 30 years in the retail business, his engagements closely match LumaStream's target customers. His previous positions include leading Ashley Furniture Industries' retail practice as President Global Retailing; President and CEO of Wickes Furniture; COO for Lady and Kids Foot Locker; and President Casual Corner, a national apparel chain. His executive experience will assist LumaStream in tailoring products that appeal to large retail chains and other retail sectors.
LumaStream is positioning itself as the significant disruptive force in the lighting industry. The experience of industry leaders like Schaffel, Christopher, and Disa will be instrumental for LumaStream's success.
