Luis Cifuentes Joins Seattle IoT Platform Startup Sirqul, Inc. as New Chief Operating Officer
SEATTLE, Feb. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Sirqul, Inc., a leading platform in rapid application development for Internet of Things (IoT) and Connected Devices, today announced that veteran executive Luis Cifuentes has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer. Cifuentes was most recently Head of Sales for North America FBA at Amazon.com, responsible for accelerating adoption and growth of Amazon Fulfillment Services. In this capacity, he led a team of sales and customer success professionals increasing units shipped from strategic Sellers by +196% YoY and increasing sales from new Sellers using FBA by 110%.
At Sirqul, Cifuentes leads all B2B and customer-facing departments including licensing, professional services, product development, operations, sales and customer success. Cifuentes will bring a combination of extensive sales experience, operations improvement and global go-to-market expertise to his work in ensuring Sirqul's customer success initiatives. Having driven growth strategies for Dell previously, Cifuentes will also focus on fueling Sirqul's continued expansion into Asia and the Americas, as more ODMs and Brands license Sirqul's "white-label" platform offerings.

Before Amazon, Cifuentes had a 9 year career at Dell where he held various leadership positions including General Manager for Consumer, Small and Medium Business in Latin America and Services Sales Director for the US Mid-Market Division. Prior to Dell, Cifuentes was an officer in the Colombian Army and a Risk and Security Consultant helping companies like BP and Schlumberger operate in high risk areas in Colombia. His first exposure to technology was working as a program manager at the Colombian Customs Administration leading a team of engineers in the development of an import/export fraud control system leveraging artificial neural networks and fuzzy logic. Cifuentes has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point where he attended as a foreign cadet and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. Cifuentes, his wife and two daughters live in Issaquah, WA.
