MCLEAN, Va., Sept. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today that Lucy Reilly Fitch has joined the company as Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications.
In this role, Fitch will lead the company's media relations, employee communications, and corporate marketing.
Fitch comes to SAIC after 26 years of positions of increasing responsibility in corporate communications, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning and business development. She was most recently senior vice president, corporate communications, at BAE Systems, Inc., where she also served as senior vice president of mergers and acquisitions. Before joining BAE in 2000, she was the director, business development and strategic planning at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Sector, among other positions in the defense industry. She began her career as a journalist focusing on business, aerospace and defense, and technology.
She holds a Masters in Business Administration – International from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism & Mass Communication from Kansas State University. Her board memberships include Association for Corporate Growth, The Atlantic Council, Tragedy Assistance Project for Survivors (TAPS), the National Guard Youth Foundation and the Kansas State University A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications Board of Advisors. She has lectured on leadership, strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and communication at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, executive leadership programs at Oxford University, and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania among others.
