Funds used to support scaling of Welcome Home Network Program, which benefits active military, veterans and family members
SEATTLE, Aug. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Invictus Foundation™, a national nonprofit organization offering one on one and family behavioral health counseling services with licensed behavioral health providers to active duty military, National Guard, Reserve forces, veterans of Iraq, Afghanistan and their families regardless of their ability to pay, announces a grant from the Lucky Seven Foundation to scale its Welcome Home Network program and services.
"Through the Lucky Seven Foundation's generosity we will continue to raise awareness about the psychological impact of war, to reduce stigma, and to raise awareness about the Welcome Home Network™ program and services," said Peter J. Whalen, Founder and CEO of the Invictus Foundation.™ "With the Lucky Seven Foundation's support we can extend our efforts to help military members, veterans and their families. This grant will help us continue our work to normalize what our military members, veterans and their families are experiencing and support the sacrifices that they are making by providing critical and confidential behavioral health services regardless of their ability to pay.
"The Invictus Foundation's Welcome Home Network program and services and its informatics platform have been designed to provide services that are separate from the military establishment. The Welcome Home Network™ offers an essential option for men and women who might otherwise fail to seek or receive appropriate services."
