LTI, Inc., Milky Way and Brown Line Join EPA's SmartWay Environmental Partnership
Lynden companies excel in fuel efficiency and environmental performance
SEATTLE, Jan. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- LTI, Inc., its Milky Way division and Brown Line, LLC have joined the SmartWay Transport Partnership. SmartWay is a collaboration between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and transportation companies to voluntarily improve fuel efficiency and reduce air pollution from freight transport. Partners utilize most of the commercially available fuel saving strategies and evaluate the latest emerging technologies. Sister company Lynden Transport became the first Alaska trucking company to join SmartWay in 2008.
"It's especially nice to be recognized by the EPA for our longstanding focus on improving fuel consumption rates, payload size, and other operating practices which not only add value for our customers, but also minimize our impact on the environment," says LTI, Inc. President Brad Williamson.
Many companies use SmartWay partners exclusively for transportation and other needs. LTI, Inc. and Brown Line, LLC are now listed on the SmartWay website www.epa.gov/smartwaylogistics.
