-Company Founders Receive Plaque Containing Lt.'s Bronze Star War Medal-
BUFFALO, N.Y., Dec. 1, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Christopher Alf (Chris Alf), Chairman of National Air Cargo Group, announced today that LT. Truong of the U.S. Army MEDLOG 484th awarded National Air Cargo staff with a Certificate of Excellence for their outstanding service rendered in theater during his recent deployment to Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan. In addition, Mr. & Mrs. Alf and National Air Cargo were awarded two special plaques containing one Bronze Star (War Hero) Medal and one Afghanistan Campaign Medal which LT. Truong received for his heroic services, along with two U.S. flags flown during combat.
"This immense recognition from LT. Truong means so much to the National team and to Lori and me personally" stated Christopher Alf. "Delivering life saving medical supplies to our forces in theater is our #1 mission. There is nothing more important to us."
Since the arrival of MEDLOG 484 in Bagram in December of 2009, the National Air Cargo team has worked closely with the unit to provide the exceptional medical logistics services, including shipping and receiving of medical supplies to assist critical life saving missions. For example, National chartered an aircraft to deliver critical life-saving supplies to a field hospital at a remote Forward Operating Base location in Afghanistan on the same day they ran out of supplies in order to serve patients in need. Under normal circumstances, this type of shipment would take five to seven days to deliver using routine transportation methods.
"National Air Cargo's logistic support was essential to my being awarded the Bronze Star medal for heroic services in Afghanistan," stated LT. Truong. "I believe the team and the company leadership deserve medals as well."
The National Air Cargo staff awarded the Certificate of Excellence, included Mr. Marc Van Dargriff, Station Manager, and the 23 employees that comprise Team Bagram.
