LS Power Announces Initial Delivery of Electric Energy from Arlington Valley Solar Energy II
NEW YORK, May 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- LS Power announced today that the Arlington Valley Solar Energy Project (AV Solar) had completed construction, commissioned the first 19 megawatt power block and commenced initial delivery of electric energy. At completion, AV Solar will be a 127 megawatt (AC) photovoltaic solar farm near Arlington, Arizona. AV Solar, constructed on more than 1,100 acres of land, will directly convert sunlight to electricity. The Project will sell its entire output to San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) pursuant to a long-term power sales agreement. Fluor Corporation is providing engineering, procurement and construction, and operation and maintenance services for the Project. The photovoltaic panels were supplied by Kyocera and Hyundai. Financing was provided by Prudential Capital Group, and a bank group led by Banco Santander S.A. GE Energy Financial Services is participating in AV Solar as an equity partner.
