LRS Education Services Signs Agreement with itSM Solutions to Begin Offering NIST Cybersecurity Framework Courses
SPRINGFIELD, Ill., Aug. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- LRS® Education Services has recently signed an agreement with itSM Solutions to deliver the NIST Cybersecurity Framework courses. LRS Education Services will begin delivering the courses for the program in a few weeks.
"In May of this year, President Trump issued Executive Order 13800 for Strengthening the Cybersecurity of Federal Networks and Critical Infrastructure," says Margaret Teague, Manager of LRS Education Services. "In essence, this Order calls for the ongoing support and sustainment of a workforce that is skilled in cybersecurity and related fields and LRS is proud to be at the forefront of offering this collection of training for our clients."
In partnership with itSM Solutions LLC and UMass Lowell a NSA/DHS National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Research (CAE-R), LRS Education Services is adding the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (NCSF) cybersecurity workforce training program to our portfolio for our clients. This innovative, cybersecurity workforce development program is built around an NCSF Controls Factory™ model created by Larry Wilson, the CISO in the university President's office. The itSM/UMass program teaches individuals and organizations the knowledge, skills and abilities to engineer, instrument, test, maintain and continually improve an NCSF program.
LRS Education Services is offering two certification courses; The NCSF Foundation Certification Course and The NCSF Practitioner Certification Course.
The NCSF Foundation Certification Course outlines current cybersecurity challenges and explains how organizations that implement an NCSF program can mitigate these risks. This program is focused on candidates who need a basic understanding of the NCSF to perform their daily jobs as executives, accountants, lawyers or information technology professionals.
The NCSF Practitioner Certification Course details the current cybersecurity challenges plus teaches in depth the UMass Lowell NCSF Control Factory Methodology on how to design, build, test and manage an NCSF cybersecurity program. This program is focused on candidates who need a detailed understanding of the NCSF to perform their daily roles as cybersecurity engineers, testers or operations professionals.
All programs come with a certificate of completion and continuing education credits, such as PDU and CEUs. Optional certification exams may be scheduled through ACQUIROS.
