LPL Financial to Host "Explore Your Future" Career Day for Communities In Schools Students from Garinger High School
CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Students enrolled in the Communities In Schools (CIS) program at Garinger High School will get an inside look at the financial services industry when they participate in the "Explore Your Future" career day at LPL Financial's Charlotte headquarters on Thursday, March 22. LPL Financial has worked closely with the CIS staff at Garinger High School to identify students interested in considering the wide range of career opportunities available in the financial services industry.
Andy Kalbaugh, Managing Director of Institution Services with LPL Financial, will greet the students, provide an overview of the firm, and serve as host of the event. "LPL Financial is committed to providing this community's young people with the knowledge and the inspiration to pursue a career in the financial services industry or wherever their interests take them," said Kalbaugh. "We are delighted to partner with Communities In Schools to give students a more personal, hands-on experience as they approach graduation and consider their future career plans."
Visiting students will participate in a range of activities, including: one-on-one interactions and presentations with LPL Financial employees representing a variety of job functions, a panel discussion that explores executives' educational backgrounds and career paths, and a tour of the company's offices in Charlotte. Participants will also have opportunities to ask questions and engage in individualized discussion with LPL Financial employees during lunch.
"We're excited to host students from Garinger," added Kalbaugh. "Our goal is to help them open their minds and see the possibilities the future has to offer. An event such as LPL Financial's 'Explore Your Future' event is a meaningful way we can have a positive impact with these young students."
