Louisiana Healthcare Connections To Sponsor Free Clinic In Lake Charles
Two-day health clinic expected to provide free medical, dental and vision services to 1,500 people
BATON ROUGE, La., Sept. 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The City of Lake Charles will offer Operation Healing & Restoration, a free health clinic hosted by Remote Area Medical (RAM) and sponsored by Louisiana Healthcare Connections, at the Lake Charles Civic Center, 900 Lakeshore Drive, on Sept. 15-16, 2018.
As many as 1,500 people from across the state are expected to receive free dental, vision and medical care at the two-day event. No qualifying questions will be asked, and attendees do not need ID or health insurance to receive services.
"Access to quality healthcare is essential if we are to truly battle the root causes of poverty within a community," says Lake Charles Mayor Nic Hunter. We hope Operation Healing and Restoration may connect our residents in need to health services and care that may be available to them year-round."

Attendees will be served on a first come, first served basis. Due to time constraints, attendees will be asked to choose between dental and vision care. Services will include:
- DENTAL: Cleaning, fillings, extractions, X-rays
- VISION: Eye exams, eyeglass prescriptions, eyeglasses will be made on-site
- MEDICAL: Women's health exams, general medical exams
Patient parking will open at midnight on Sept. 14, 2018, and tickets will be handed out beginning at 3 a.m. on Sept. 15, 2018. Tickets are required for admission, and attendees will be seen in numerical order based on ticket number. Clinic doors will open at 6 a.m. This process will repeat for the second day of the clinic.
