Louisiana Cookin' Magazine to Increase Circulation & Expand Under New Ownership
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., April 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Louisiana Cookin' Magazine and Hoffman Media announced the acquisition of the magazine by Hoffman Media today, as well as plans to grow the magazine and its circulation. The acquisition includes the magazine, louisianacookin.com, the Lagniappe e-newsletter and the consistently sold out Louisiana Cookin' Chefs to Watch dinner.
The magazine and the Louisiana Cookin' staff will continue to be located in New Orleans. Hoffman Media plans to support the staff, the Louisiana Cookin' community, and the brand through additional capital committed to a dramatic increase in circulation.
"We've long been interested in Louisiana Cookin', and we're excited about taking it to the next level, making it the national authority on Louisiana's cuisine and culture. The superb quality of the editorial and the recipes in the magazine are a testament to the staff, an we're looking forward to taking their authoritative perspective on Louisiana cuisine nationwide," said Eric Hoffman, COO of Hoffman Media.
Hoffman Media will be making a significant investment in the circulation of Louisiana Cookin', growing the newsstand distribution 10X to over 75,000 copies per issue within the next few months, by purchasing checkout pocket programs in retail markets across the entire state, and by cross promoting Louisiana Cookin' with their other well established publications, including Cooking with Paula Deen, Southern Lady, Victoria and Taste of the South. Additionally, the magazine will continue to pursue partnerships with leading hotels and restaurants throughout the south.
Romney Richard, Founder of Louisiana Cookin' said: "We are all so thrilled with this win for our magazine, our staff and our great State. It's incredibly gratifying to have built Louisiana Cookin' from the ground up and to see it go nationwide. Our readers have told us for years that, whether they reside here in Louisiana or not, our magazine is a taste of home for them. We've been poised for a significant circulation boost and, thanks to Hoffman Media, that will happen sooner rather than later. And the fact that Hoffman Media will continue to fully support the Chefs to Watch event and our philanthropic efforts with New Orleans' Cafe Reconcile and others is just icing on the cake."
