Louis Roederer Cristal Dinner at DANIEL Raises $300,000 for Grapes for Humanity/US
NEW YORK, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On the evening of Sunday, October 3rd, at DANIEL restaurant in New York City, Grapes for Humanity/US (GFH/US) raised over $300,000 thanks to the incredible generosity of Frederic Rouzaud, CEO of Louis Roederer, and Chef Daniel Boulud.
Guests at the wine dinner had the opportunity to taste five vintages of Cristal donated by Louis Roederer.
"We were very impressed with the quality of [Grapes for Humanity/US] and the result was outstanding," said Frederic Rouzaud, CEO of Louis Roederer.
"Arlene Willis (Chairman and Founder of GFH/US) and Christine Wheeler ( GFH/US Evening Chair) bring an intimate, heartfelt dedication and global perspective to Grapes for Humanity/US. What could be better than combining that with champagne Cristal, as we did this Sunday at DANIEL. They really inspired me to create a menu to match their generosity," said Chef Daniel Boulud.
Grapes for Humanity/US is an internationally recognized charitable foundation that has raised millions of dollars in support of landmine survivors and innocent victims of conflict and disease around the world.
The funds raised from the Cristal dinner will go to programs funded by GFH/US' Haiti Relief Effort: Philip Craig Arts Program in Deschapelle, Haiti, St Damien Pediatric Hospital in Haiti, BRAC USA and Hanger Ivan Sabel Foundation.
Funds will be used to build a new dormitory at The Viola Wheeler Music Program in Cambodia at Lavalla School and Orphanage.
The evening was sponsored by Mutual of America, Navios Maritime Holdings, Inc., Viola Wheeler, and Louis Roederer Champagne.
