NEW YORK, Sept. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Emerald Expositions, Inc. has announced its lineup of featured keynote presentations at this year's PDN PhotoPlus International Conference + Expo, taking place at the Javits Convention Center in New York City from October 20-22, 2016. Over the years, the Expo's daily keynote presentations take center stage and have become the cornerstone of this annual photography event. This year's lineup of keynote speakers elevates the phrase "star power" to an entirely new level. The lunchtime keynote presentations will be held daily during PhotoPlus Expo from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Thursday, October 20, two legends of rock and roll -- musician Graham Nash and renowned photographer and musician Mark Seliger – will discuss their careers, mutual love of photography and music, and the intersecting parallels in their careers that forged a lifetime friendship between both superstars. This conversation is sure to bring attendees a unique insight into two iconic legends.
Friday, October 21, three of VII Photo agency's photojournalists – Jessica Dimmock, Ron Haviv, and Ashley Gilbertson- will share lessons of integrity and dedication and what it means to be a visual storyteller today in their keynote entitled, "Why we Shoot."
Saturday, October 22, Paul Nicklen and Cristina Mittermeier will take attendees on a journey that can only be told through the eyes of a National Geographic photographer as they share their global initiative to protect oceans around the world and its inhabitants.
Attendees with a conference pass receive entry to the keynote presentation at no additional charge onsite and those holding VIP Expo Passes will receive priority seating. Attendees with Expo Only passes can purchase tickets to a keynote presentation for $10 in advance or $15. Graham Nash, photographer and co-founder of the printmaking studio Nash Editions – and two time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member with Crosby, Stills & Nash and The Hollies – will share the stories behind some of the images he's made over the decades during this live conversation with award-winning photographer Mark Seliger. While best known as a musician, photography was Nash's first love, even before music, and has successfully pursued a parallel career as a photographer, collector, and digital imaging pioneer. Mark Seliger's career spans 30 years, having photographed some of the biggest names in music, politics, business and entertainment. His images have graced the covers of Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone and countless others. Mark has also led a double life as a lead singer and songwriter for the country band Rusty Truck. Join these two friends for a lively and entertaining discussion of their inspirations, their growth as photographers, and the many places their pursuit of creativity has taken them.
