Los Gatos Research Now Offers Ten Ultraportable Analyzers for Soil Trace Gas Flux Measurements
Fourth-generation, cavity-enhanced laser absorption technology provides dependable analyzers with low cost of ownership
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Los Gatos Research (LGR), the leader in precision trace gas analyzers, today announced that it has expanded the lower speed (up to 1 Hz) trace gas analyzer line to include as many as nine different Ultraportable trace gas analyzers with various combinations available in ten different products. This year's R&D 100 Award winning analyzer for NO2 (nitrogen dioxide) joins a series of 1 Hz analyzers that measure the same trace gases as the high speed analyzers and are used for applications ranging from natural gas leak detection to soil trace gas flux to landfill gas monitoring. The trace gases that may be measured include carbon dioxide (CO2), water vapor (H2O), methane (CH4), ammonia (NH3), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), acetylene (C2H2), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), hydrogen fluoride (HF), and hydrogen chloride (HCl). The last three are especially important gases in volcanic regions.
All these analyzers include user-cleanable optics and can be used with custom-made chambers or with chambers from other manufacturers. LGR also offers a well-priced Multiport Inlet Unit available with either 8 or 16 inlets so that you easily connect multiple chambers to a single analyzer.
LGR gas analyzers are based on the company's patented technology, a fourth-generation, cavity-enhanced laser absorption spectroscopy technique. This unique approach is both more rugged and more precise than earlier cavity-enhanced techniques, such as conventional cavity ringdown spectroscopy, because LGR instruments do not need ultra-precise alignment or sub-nanometer stability of its optics, or a high degree of thermal control. This ensures higher absolute accuracy, longer maintenance intervals, higher reliability, and reduced cost of ownership.
