LOS ANGELES, Feb. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Los Angeles Youth Network (LAYN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sylvia Castillo, Director, Foundation and Community Officer of Corporate Responsibility at Union Bank to its Board of Directors. Castillo joins the 11-member board, to provide leadership in carrying out LAYN's mission of serving runaway, homeless, and foster youth in the Los Angeles community.
Castillo has more than 35 years of experience in the banking industry and a strong commitment to community engagement. She is currently responsible for building relationships with civic and business leaders, community-based advocacy organizations, and multicultural leaders throughout the communities that the bank serves. Prior to joining Union Bank in 2012, she served as a senior vice president and consumer market executive at Bank of America, and has also held several other management and executive positions.

Castillo joins LAYN's board at an exciting time for the organization. Under the direction of CEO/President, Mark Supper, LAYN continues to expand services and numbers served for the Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) population after receiving Measure H funds. In addition, the agency will soon be one of the first in LA County to open a Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) serving foster youth ages 11-19 with severe mental health diagnosis.
