State-of-the-art exhibit open to visitors Friday, May 13th through Thursday, May 19th

NEW YORK, May 11, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and the President of the Los Angeles Board of Education Monica Garcia will join Southern California students and representatives from NBC News, NBC 4 LA and Telemundo 52 at the official opening of the "Education Nation Experience" on Friday, May 13th at 10 a.m. PT. The "Education Nation Experience" installation at Exposition Park on the front lawn of the Museum of Natural History will be open to the public and school groups all week, from Friday, May 13th through Thursday, May 19th. The state-of-the-art exhibit is designed to engage school groups and the broader community by using video and interactive tools to explore the skills, knowledge and training required to succeed in the 21st Century. With help from Telemundo, the experience will feature bilingual content and Spanish materials will be available to visitors of the exhibit. The "Experience" will be open Friday-Thursday from 9:30 a.m. PT to 6:00 p.m. PT.

The "Education Nation Experience" is part of NBC News' "Education Nation Los Angeles," which also includes education-focused programming on NBC News, NBC 4 LA and Telemundo 52, a Teacher Town Hall (May 15th) and "Job One" workforce panel featuring top Southern California CEOs and business leaders (May 19th).
