Los Angeles Jewish Home Selects Real Estate Developer Michael Heslov to Serve as its Chair, Board of Directors
RESEDA, Calif., July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The Los Angeles Jewish Home, the largest single-source provider of senior housing in Los Angeles, has selected Home board member Michael Heslov as its new board of directors' chair effective July 1. Newly elected to the board was Sheldon Asher.
Heslov, who succeeds David Swartz in the Home's top volunteer leadership spot, is a commercial real estate developer and co-partner in the high-profile Los Angeles firm, Soboroff Partners. He has been a member of the Jewish Home's board for six years, and was instrumental in negotiations that enabled the Home to acquire property for a new campus to be located in Culver City. Heslov has served as vice chair of the board's budget and finance committee for the past two years, and is a passionate advocate of the Home's mission to provide quality senior care reflective of Jewish values, independent of financial ability.
"Los Angeles has the second largest Jewish community in the country, yet it is well below average in the amount of care that's available for our elderly," Heslov said. "My goal over the next two years will be to provide as many services to as many seniors as possible, while remaining financially responsible. We've made a good start with our recently opened Fountainview at Eisenberg Village and the upcoming Gonda Healthy Aging Westside Campus and Brandman Centers for Senior Care, a Program of All-inclusive Care (PACE). We will continue to focus on expanding Jewish Home community services to the growing population of seniors in Los Angeles County."
Asher was most recently president and CEO of Omnicell, Inc., a healthcare technology company, and is active in World President's Organization (WPO). He is a member of the Jewish Home's strategic planning committee.
