Los Angeles Chinatown's Gems and Landmarks Explored in New Walking Tours
LOS ANGELES, May 24, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Los Angeles Chinatown has held a long time fascination with visitors from all over the world and for those living right outside its doorsteps. Some of this fascination is rooted in Chinatown's mysterious and seemingly hard to navigate exotic shops and landmarks. A new monthly event, "The Undiscovered Chinatown Tour" presented by Los Angeles Chinatown, offers visitors and Angelenos an intimate guided tour through the unique historic district.
Tour attendees get a chance to visit a rotating selection of Chinatown's beautiful temples, herbal shops, art galleries, antique stores, historic landmarks and unique, often undiscovered treasures--not to mention great bargains--to be found in Chinatown. The two-and-a half-hour walking tour will be offered on the first Saturday of every month (except holiday weekends) and will take visitors to a number of off-the-beaten-path points of interest, and will guide those interested in shopping to some of Chinatown's best bargains and its trendiest shops. Attendees will discover why Chinatown is touted by Sunset Magazine and Los Angeles Magazine as one of Los Angeles' hottest destinations for urban adventurers. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes as they wind their way through a myriad of alleyways, plaza stalls, and classical courtyards to discover the charm of L.A.'s Chinatown.
