Loris Bog-Off Festival Celebrates 35th Anniversary on October 18
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., Sept. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The small town of Loris, South Carolina welcomes residents and visitors for a week-long celebration kicking off the 35th annual Loris Bog-Off starting Oct. 13 through Oct. 18.

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of this popular festival, the town of Loris, located just north of the Myrtle Beach area, will host activities throughout the week for families and visitors to the area. The Bog-Off week will include a themed movie night, game night and spaghetti dinner, a carnival and of course, the popular Bog-Off where attendees can submit their best chicken bog recipes to be judged by a panel of bog experts.
The events details include:
- Monday, Oct. 13 – Frozen Movie Night, Dress up as your favorite prince or princess and join us for an evening of fun as we watch 'Frozen.' The event begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by the film at 7 p.m. Rain date is on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
- Tuesday, Oct. 14 – Game Night, A night filled with fun and excitement! Join us for a game of bingo and a spaghetti dinner for $10 per person at the Center for Health & Fitness. Prizes will be given away. Dinner begins at 6 p.m., bingo begins at 6:30 p.m.
- Thursday, Oct. 16 & Friday, Oct. 17 – Loris Bog-Off Festival Carnival, Two nights of fun and rides featuring mechanical rides, pony rides, camel rides, a petting zoo, inflatable rides, concessions and carnival games. Gates open at 5 p.m. located at the grass lot on the corner of Meeting and Casey Streets. Fees apply.
- Saturday, Oct. 18 – Loris Bog-Off, With more than 35,000 attendees, join us for countless craft, retail and food vendors and the Chicken Bog Cooking Contest. There will be a free concert by national country artist, David Fanning in addition to fireworks and a car & tractor show. This event is free to the public and begins at 9 a.m.
