Successfully showcased its innovative product LooxidVR in front of industry leaders
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Looxid Labs announced today to showcase its emotion recognition system with eye and brain interface optimized for VR at TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Battlefield San Francisco 2017, which is known as the world's leading authority in debuting revolutionary startups. At the competition, Looxid Labs revealed LooxidVR, the first mobile VR headset for emotion recognition via brainwave and eye-tracking.
TechCrunch Disrupt annually brings together more than 3,000 participants, including the best and brightest entrepreneurs, investors, and tech fans as well as the most promising early-stage companies. In particular, Startup Battlefield is regarded as the very heart of TechCrunch Disrupt as the world's top early-stage startups come together to compete for the coveted Disrupt Cup, a $50,000 prize and the attention of media and investors.
This year in San Francisco, Looxid Labs was selected as one of twenty-three top notch Battlefield startups. Only the top 3% of total applicants are given such an opportunity. The past winners include names like Dropbox, Mint, Yammer and many more.
Looxid Labs is also exhibiting its world's first emotion recognition system integrated into VR in Battlefield Pavilion of Startup Alley on September 18-20th. Its emotion recognition system is composed of three main parts: unique VR-embeddable brainwave and eye-tracking sensors (hardware), machine learning algorithm, and expandable API (software). Its hardware LooxidVR features two eye tracking cameras and six brainwave sensors which are attachable and compatible with various VR headsets including HTC Vive. At the booth, Looxid Labs will offer a live demonstration of the emotion analysis process including measuring wearers' brain waves, eye-movement and pupil information via LooxidVR.
"It is really encouraging to demonstrate Looxid Labs' outstanding technology at TechCrunch Disrupt San Francisco 2017, where tech industry leaders and influencers are gathered. Based on the excellent feedback we received at Startup Battlefield, we will continue to focus our efforts on expanding the global presence of Looxid Labs," said Yongwook Chae, CEO of Looxid Labs. "We would also like to thank both K-ICT Born2Global Centre and Gyeonggi-Center for Creative Economy & Innovation - leading Korean government agencies that encourage Korean startups to reach out into the global arena - for all the support they provided," he added.
