ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LongHorn Steakhouse has now opened in San Antonio, Texas. The restaurant, best known for its atmosphere and flavor of the American West, is located at 5803 North Loop 1604 West (at the intersection of Loop 1604 and I-10).

Prior to its January 18 grand opening, LongHorn hosted four Friends and Family sessions as part of its pre-opening training period, which helped raise over $3,300 for the San Antonio Public Library Foundation. Additionally, the restaurant auctioned off a donated original western painting by Tim Cox during its VIP event, raising another $550 for the local organization.
"We are excited to officially be open to residents and visitors of San Antonio," said Patrick Greyard, managing partner of LongHorn's first San Antonio location. "Our Friends and Family events gave our staff a chance to make final preparations before opening and allowed our guests to donate to a wonderful cause in the San Antonio Public Library Foundation. We are looking forward to making more contributions to the organization as we open additional locations this year."
LongHorn will open two additional San Antonio locations in late spring and summer of 2010. The new restaurants will be located at I-35 and Zarzamora (May) and Loop 1604 and Culebra (July). The chain, which operates more than 300 restaurants in the U.S., expects to hire approximately 240 team members from the surrounding area for all three local restaurants.
LongHorn is known for more than its signature hand-seasoned Flo's Filet and the bone-in Outlaw Ribeye. LongHorn chefs love to grill fresh fish and chicken in addition to steak. Items such as LongHorn Salmon, a fresh, hand-cut salmon fillet seasoned with a bourbon marinade; fall-off-the-bone tender Baby Back Ribs; and Parmesan Crusted Chicken, two juicy chicken breasts grilled and topped with a parmesan cheese and garlic crust, are just some of the other specialties guests will find on the menu.
The new restaurant will be open Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
