A powerful image of peace and unity displayed at Toronto's largest outdoor yoga session
TORONTO, June 22, 2013 /CNW/ - In the summer rain, over 2,000 Canadians dressed in white participated in Toronto's largest outdoor yoga session, in a powerful presentation of peace and unity. Today, the Lolë White Yoga Tour made its first Canadian stop of 2013 at the city's Fort York National Historic Site. The city's stunning skyline provided the perfect backdrop for the session, and the date couldn't have been more fitting, as it took place on the weekend of the summer solstice, a time that is considered auspicious worldwide. With a philosophy of "Live Out Loud Everyday," Canadian active wear label Lolë is living its belief to the fullest.
Leading the session was Toronto yoga teacher and Lolë ambassador, Grace Dubery. Not only did she acknowledge the rain, she embraced it, leading a powerful session for thousands of participants. "I am honoured to have been a part of the Lolë White Yoga Tour," says Grace. "This collaborative movement brings people together in such a unique and memorable way and to have the opportunity to lead thousands of people at one time was incredibly special."
Building on the success of past Lolë White Yoga Session events, held in 2011 and 2012 in Paris and Montreal respectively, Lolë resolved to create its one-of-a-kind yoga session into a worldwide tour. "Lolë is part of a fundamental lifestyle movement that is changing the shape of the world around us through a wellness revolution," says Bernard Mariette, CEO of Coalision (Lolë, Paradox, Orage).
"The 2013 tour started off in the U.S. in Salt Lake City, Utah," explains Nathalie Binda, Vice-President of Marketing, Lolë. "Following the Toronto event, we're moving to Montreal, Quebec on July 27th and are ending off the year in Paris, France on September 1st, bringing together a total of 12,000 people this year."
As an extension of Lolë community involvement, this session supported the Harbourfront Community Centre (HCC). Donations were accepted at the event with all proceeds assisting the HCC to offer free yoga, Pilates and Zumba classes.
Early summer, Lolë continues retail expansion with its first downtown Toronto store located at 88 Yorkville Avenue, bringing the total number of retail locations to six in Canada.
