CANTON, Mass., Sept. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- LoJack Corporation (NASDAQ: LOJN), in conjunction with TomTom, is bringing an exclusive "sneak peak" of the new TomTom PRO eight thousand series driver terminal for fleet management to the Field Service East 2014 Convention in Atlanta. The TomTom PRO 8270 & 8275 are the newest addition to LoJack™ Fleet Management powered by TomTom, the comprehensive, GPS-based advanced telematics system designed for tracking and managing fleets.
"LoJack is proud to bring this revolutionary new tool for fleet management at the Field Service East Convention." said Randy Ortiz, CEO of LoJack Corporation. "Working in collaboration with TomTom, we're excited to preview the innovative services and capabilities of the TomTom PRO eight thousand Series for the hard-working managers and workers of the commercial industry at Field Services East."
The new device works in combination with TomTom LINK and combines navigation, traffic, job workflow and messaging all in one device. Furthermore, functionality can be extended as the device's open platform allows for third party applications to be integrated. This opens up endless capabilities for fleet management activities such as workflow standardization of vehicle checks, signature capture, bar code scanning, material usage reporting (inventory control in the vehicle) and monitor inputs for cameras in the vehicle (the rear camera, for example).
The TomTom PRO eight thousand series is designed for any fleet, with the ability to integrate the driver terminal into an existing system, streamlining the workflow for employees. Connected to back-end office capabilities, fleet and order managers can send orders directly to the PRO with full addressing information. LoJack's clients can allow their drivers to accept the order and depart, supported by TomTom's best-in-class* navigation and traffic-avoidance capabilities.
