Lois Marie Wygonik is recognized by Continental Who's Who
LAKELAND, Fla., March 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Lois Marie Wygonik, R.N., CRNA, NP, ARNP, Professor Emeritus, is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Life Achiever Retiree for 2017-2018 in the field of Nursing in recognition of her role as a retired Certified Registered Nurse and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner at Florida Anesthesia Associates.
Established since 1974, Florida Anesthesia Associates P.A "is a group of highly qualified Physician Anesthesiologists" that were formed in an effort to provide, "organized single group anesthesia coverage to Winter Haven Hospital, Women's Hospital, and various eye clinics."
Amassing over fifty six years of experience in the field of Nursing and Anesthesia currently continues to serve the field by working with aspiring nurses as a Professor Emeritus. Until being transferred to Florida, Wygonik taught Anesthesia to students (1983) at the Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania. Attributing her success to her being a survivor after brain surgery, which left Wygonik with many temporary and permanent problems, when asked her advice to newcomers in the industry, Wygonik states the importance of being a, "dedicated healthcare worker."
In addition to her work in the field and in the classroom, Wygonik served as Co-Chairman of "Tidings," the bi-monthly magazine of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. The magazine is created to discuss the Nurse Anesthetists' events, scientific data and findings and features on highlighted members of the association from Pennsylvania.
Throughout the course of her education and training, Wygonik attained her Nursing Degree in 1960 at Butler Memorial Hospital; Wygonik became a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist from Allegheny Valley Hospital (Natrona Heights, FL) in 1962 and completed her Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing in 1974 at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
To further her professional development, Wygonik is an affiliate of several organizations including the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Additionally, she also served on many committees for the Pennsylvania Nurse Anesthetists, and still serves as a Professor Emeritus at the Winter Haven Hospital teaching and practicing in all aspects of anesthesia in Winter Haven, FL.
In recognition of her professional accolades, Wygonik, the President of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists appointed Lois as Chairman of the Public Relations Committee at their national convention in Arizona. Furthermore, she presented at a Federal Post Office Substation which came to the Convention Hotel for two days. Federal Employees placed a cancellation on stamps to advertise the 50th Anniversary of the CRNA. There were thousands of stamp collectors all over the world who were made aware of the Certified Registered Nurse Anestethist (CRNA)
When not working, Lois enjoys rescuing animals and collecting exotic birds, as well as reading, and doing home renovations. She dedicates this recognition to the loving memory of her mother, Stella Tomaszewski Wygonik, as well as to Betty Augustino, CRNA and to Betty Soisson, CRNA, who is missed very much.
