Greg Foss, senior security research engineer, will take the stage in the morning to discuss practical uses of "honeypots," or computing traps commonly used by security researchers to discover active hacker methods. Foss will outline how companies without a security research team can effectively deploy and monitor honeypots to provide counter intelligence and active defense value to an organization. Participants will learn about the various different types of honeypots, honey-docs, honey-tokens and other ways to attain attribution using honeypot distributions.
In the afternoon, James Carder, LogRhythm chief information security officer (CISO) and vice president of LogRhythm Labs, will join Jessica Hebenstreit, the current manager of security informatics at the Mayo Clinic, to outline the successful implementation of an automated incident response architecture.
