Logentries Announces Free Log Analysis & Alerting Plug-Ins for HipChat, PagerDuty and Campfire
Real-time log data monitoring and notifications enable collaboration for development, IT & support teams
BOSTON, March 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Logentries, a leading SaaS service for log management and log analytics, today announced the launch of new log analysis and alerting plug-ins for HipChat, PagerDuty and Campfire. These free integrations enable users to easily monitor and analyze their log events, and automatically send important log event information to team members.
Development, IT, and support teams depend on alerting and collaboration tools to track important log events and quickly resolve performance problems. These teams need to know when something is failing or occurring within their systems, which software component or machine was responsible for the event, and often, what happened exactly before and after the event. The new Logentries plug-ins for HipChat, PagerDuty, and Campfire provide this level of integrated detail, out of the box, and sends it directly into the existing tools' alerting capabilities.
"The Logentries webhook uses the HipChat API which makes it really easy to send immediate notifications with relevant log data insights directly into a HipChat room," said Zuhaib Siddique, Platform Engineer, Atlassian HipChat. "With this integration, you know the problem occurred, understand why, and as a team, can figure out how to fix it."
Logentries users simply select what performance thresholds, keywords, log patterns, or specific events they want to track and monitor. When an event occurs, Logentries immediately notifies users via their preferred tool. In the HipChat integration, the user identifies the HipChat notification key, and the targeted HipChat room. Logentries sends the real-time alert, along with relevant data, to that room and then tracks the progress and resolution so all team members are up-to-date on the status.
"When fatal errors or important events occur in our apps, my DevOps team loves the real-time alerting from Logentries directly into our HipChat room," said Ed Byrne, CEO, Copper.io. "We are all notified at the same time, and have the detailed log data correlated with our GitHub notifications to understand what happened so we can resolve it quickly."
"Whether there are performance bugs or important system events, you don't want to chase down the data that tells you what happened and why," said Andrew Burton, CEO and President of Logentries. "We've integrated with great technologies like HipChat, PagerDuty, and Campfire so users can leverage the power of log data to go beyond simple notifications and high level performance information. They can now share forensic information quickly and easily across their teams."
