Log Cabin's R. Clarke Cooper to be a Panelist at Harvard Law School and The New Yorker Festival
WASHINGTON, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Log Cabin Republicans is pleased to announce that Executive Director R. Clarke Cooper will be a panelist at Harvard Law School this Thursday, September 30th to discuss Log Cabin's federal court victory and the political issues surrounding "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" repeal.
Cooper will also be a panelist at The New Yorker Festival's discussion about marriage equality on Saturday, October 2nd, along with David Boies, Cynthia Nixon, Brian Brown and Bishop V. Gene Robinson.

Cooper served for eight years in the George W. Bush Administration. He last served as Counselor at the United States Mission to the United Nations (USUN) for U.N. management and reform where he advocated for transparency, accountability and reform of the U.N. He concurrently served as an Alternative Representative to the U.N. Security Council and as a Delegate to the U.N. Fifth Committee (budget) from 2008-2009. He initially served as USUN Chief of Staff in 2007. From 2006-2007, he was the Senior Legislative Advisor for the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, Office of Iraq Affairs.
Overseas, Cooper served as the Legislative Affairs Advisor for U.S. Embassy in Baghdad from 2005-2006. Currently a Captain in the United States Army Reserve, Cooper previously served a combat tour of duty in Iraq where he was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal. He also received the Combat Action Badge, the Iraq Campaign Medal with two stars and Joint Meritorious Unit Award from the U.S. Department of Defense.
Log Cabin Republicans promotes legislation to provide basic fairness for gay and lesbian Americans and works to build a more inclusive GOP.
