Locus Energy Launches Two New Major Platform Components - the SolarNOC™ and an integrated PV performance model
HOBOKEN, N.J., Feb. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Locus Energy has released two new major components to its solar PV monitoring platform. The SolarNOC -- an enterprise-grade web application for managing fleets of residential, commercial and utility PV systems and an integrated PV performance model. The new SolarNOC application is available as an add-on for current users of the SolarOS™ monitoring platform. The integrated performance model is included for all users of SolarOS.
The features of the SolarNOC include a role-based dashboard and an advanced system grouping and filtering tool. The SolarNOC dashboard is a highly customizable web interface for the display of key performance indicators (KPI's) and PV system diagnostic data. With the SolarNOC users are immediately able to see the most relevant system information and performance metrics based on their roles within an organization. The grouping and filtering tool allows users to create and manage dynamic groups of projects, installations and system components.
Together, these components provide solar asset managers with an unprecedented amount of control over how performance data is aggregated and visualized. Project data within the SolarNOC can be segmented by region, manufacturer, alerts, install date, installer and many other criteria. Users select and save filters to define groups of PV projects, and then view only the most pertinent performance data.
"We work with a large number of solar installation, finance and OEM companies, many of which have expressed the need for a more powerful tool to manage their solar assets," said Michael Herzig, CEO & Founder of Locus Energy. "These organizations are accustomed to highly configurable enterprise applications that deliver the information, tools and KPI's for multiple user groups. We believe we can offer the same capabilities through a comprehensive platform tailored for the PV industry."
The integrated PV performance model is a new feature available in the charting and reporting tools of the SolarOS Portfolio Application giving users access to weather-adjusted expected performance data across their fleets. Locus Energy's expected PV performance model is similar to NREL's System Advisor Model, but rather than having to be run manually for each system, the modeled data is now available on demand and in real-time across all systems. In addition, the required weather input data can be gathered either from on-site sensors or from Locus Energy's Virtual Irradiance engine.
