Lockton Wellness Program Recognized for Health Improvement, Cost Savings

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockton's employee wellness program has been awarded Honorable Mention for the C. Everett Koop National Health Award for 2014. Lockton is the world's largest privately held, independent insurance broker.

The program, Vitality, is a comprehensive, interactive, and personalized wellness approach that Lockton offers as part of its employee benefits package. Driven by the desire to create a culture of health, Associates are awarded points for healthy results and behaviors, such as positive biometric outcomes, careful management of chronic conditions, online health education, participation in disease management programs and fitness activities, and financial fitness. Points earned determined the level of engagement in the program and those who reach a certain status are rewarded with discounts on premiums.

Eleven programs were considered for the award this year, and of those, there were just two winning programs, AMERICAN Cast Iron Pipe Company and BP America, and one Honorable Mention.
