CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Gary Hartnett has joined Lockton's Charlotte office as the Southeast Series Employee Benefits Practice Leader. After more than 20 years with Mercer, Hartnett's expertise will help guide clients through complex employee benefits issues. Lockton is the world's largest privately held insurance broker.

Prior to joining Lockton, Hartnett had an extensive career with Mercer where he worked in numerous local and regional leadership roles. In addition, he was a lead strategist on multiple, complex multi-national deals where he designed benefits solutions for clients.

Hartnett's expertise includes benefits strategy, mergers and acquisitions due diligence, data analytics, carrier/client relationship management, and Associate development. In this newly created role, he will assist Lockton Associates with solutions to address complex client benefit challenges. Hartnett will have overall responsibility for the benefits practice in Lockton's seven offices throughout the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida.

Hartnett holds a bachelor's degree in health systems management from The University of Connecticut and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from The George Washington University.
